How do JEE Advanced Toppers choose IIT?

IITs chosen by top 100 Students JEE Advanced 2013-23

IIT Mumbai has been the first choice, followed by IIT Delhi for IIT Top 100 rankers.
IIT Madras is third in the list. (Is it due to location preference ?)
Only One student from Top 100, in last 11 years, has taken admission in IIT Roorkee.
I remember during our time, in late 90s and early 2000s, IIT Kanpur used to be first choice, followed closely by Mumbai and Delhi.

Although this list is for Open category CRL, similar trend is seen for other categories of OBC-NCL, SC, ST and EWS.

For top 1000 students that have accepted admission in IIT, Mumbai seems to be first choice, closely followed by Delhi.
